This longitudinal study investigated the body composition (BCC) profile of 516 young Colombian and Venezuelan inline speed skaters (361 females and 155 males) aged 5 to 21 years. Anthropometric data, including skinfolds and circumferences, were collected using ISAK protocols and analyzed using SPSS 24.0 and LMS Chart Maker software. Results showed significant differences in percent body fat (%BF) and percent muscle mass (%MMM) between sexes.
Smoothed percentile curves were generated for %GC and %MM as a function of age, establishing cut-off points for key percentiles (3, 10, 75, 90, 97). This classification allows coaches and health professionals to interpret skaters' CC data, considering age and competitive level, to optimize training and performance.
